We specialize in preparing income tax returns for individuals and small businesses.
Tax Planning
Tax planning is helpful when you are trying to make decisions about a new job, putting money into retirement, taking money from investments, inheriting money, or any other change in your income. We can help by running several scenarios with our tax planners and helping you make the best decisions.
Consultation
We provide consultation appointments if you need help starting a new business, deciding what type of retirement account is best for you, beginning social security, or other matters that affect your income taxes.
ABOUT
Our business began in 1985 with owners, Bob and Hazel Tucker. Hazel retired after working 50 tax seasons in 2021. Her daughter, Jan Wilson, purchased the business in 2014 and continues to operate the business in the same manner in which it was founded: To provide the most accurate service possible by staying up-to-date on tax laws and regulations, to assist our clients in making tax preparation and filing as easy for them as possible, and to make sure you know we think of you as family and friends. Personal relationships with our clients are important to us and helps us provide better service to you.
Professional Service
As an enrolled agent, Jan Wilson can represent you before the Internal Revenue Service and specializes in income tax matters. Our office staff attends update schools throughout the year to offer you the most up-to-date services.

Serving You All Year
Our office stays open all year to serve you. During tax season, we offer 5 days a week. After tax season, we are open 2 days per week. We are available to assist you when you need us either by phone, appointment, or email.

Jan Wilson

Born and raised right here in Brevard, I grew up in the tax business.
My parents, Bob and Hazel Tucker, started our business in 1985 when I was 13 years old. After school, I would answer phones, make copies for mailing (before electronic filing began), and file lots and lots of paperwork in the filing cabinets. Starting out working the front desk, I learned accounting and taxes at an early age – attending update schools every year until I moved into my own office preparing taxes.
I became an enrolled agent in 2014.
On a personal note – while attending college back in 1992, I met Troy Wilson from Lincoln, Nebraska. We married in 1995 and purchased the business from my parents in 2014. We have two sons, Trey and Aaron. They both graduated from Rosman High School and AB Technical College.
After tax season, we enjoy spending time at the lake, hiking in the forest, traveling (Maine is a favorite), and spending time with friends and family.

Christie Whitt
Office Assistant
Our family moved from Wisconsin to Brevard in the summer of 2015.
My husband, Paul, is a pastor at Bethany Baptist Church, as well as the
Head Varsity Basketball Coach at Brevard High School.
We have 3 adult children: Emily, Alex (Madeline), Jackson; and two
grandchildren, Walker and Willow.
When I’m not helping in the tax office, you can often find me with a camera
in my hand, taking photos in and around our community.
We love this small town and are grateful to be a part of it!

Jen Guenter
Office Assistant
I grew up in Vermont and lived in New England until the Lord led our family to the Brevard area in 2013.
My husband, Brad, owns and operates his own construction company (Guenter Building & Remodeling), and we have two daughters.
Aside from working at Carolina Tax, I assist my husband in his business, and I have my own business (Expressions by jlg) painting custom wooden signs.
Our family loves camping and exploring new areas, and I enjoy decorating and helping my husband build furniture pieces.
